A while back I posted an article about the cost of oil and why the price was going higher. The reason supply and demand. This is a basic, the basic fundamental law of economics.
Now, lets apply it to health care. According to Washington we have a health care crisis because 47 million people do not have insurance. So we are going to add 47 million new customer to the health care system. We have increased demand without increasing supply hence the price goes up.
Where do we get the money? We can take it from Medicare, a nice way to say take it from seniors to give it to the uninsured. Many of those uninsured are seniors, so what have we accomplished? We can raise taxes, but the taxpayers are against that. So where? WE BORROW IT.
A big part of the health care reform is to make it ‘free’. Need to see a doctor? Just go to the public health service. Sounds easy.
What have we just done? We have lowered the price. The second law of demand is that if you want to increase the frequency of a behavior you lower the price. What is lower that free?
So we have increased demand, and lowered the price. What is the result? Rationing!!!
Just recall the oil boycott of 1974 for a recent case in point. Radically reduced supply, steady demand….gas lines around the block.
To make health care unavailable, make it free and increase demand. Precisely the Obama’solution’.
This will make the oil boycott look like Sunday school.
